little concern over hijras

Now a days, life has become a miserable sin & a burden for the HIJRAS. Even though they are born on the earth alike everyone, they lack recognition and the minimum respect they are needed to be given in this society. Their future has turned into an unsolvable question for them. To their misfortune, there are blue cross associations for the welfare of the animals, whose members demand even for the smallest trouble created to them. One may even be prosecuted in the court of law if he ill-treat animals .Astonishingly, the court of law couldn’t recognize the fact that the HIJRAS are not even in a position to enjoy their Fundamental Rights. There are HIJRAS who can speak English better than many other citizens, who lead a normal life with all facilities. Yet the HIJRAS are not even in a situation to face the world, but spend their entire lives in dark isolated areas .Sir, why should they bear this discrimination, this misery, perhaps this punishment?

One day when I was traveling in a bus, a HIJRA came in. Immediately everyone laughed, moved away from him, some teased him & some made fun of him .He was only a spectator, as he knew that no one would support him if he goes against them. He stood as a loser, till he got down the bus. But after getting down he showed his finger, warned the passengers with his facial expressions

But didn’t utter a word. He cried a lot and didn’t know whom to express his feelings, for this society had made him dumb. I was very much moved and couldn’t wait till I questioned my fellow passengers:-

“How many of you all are being tortured by the HIJRAS in trains, buses etc asking for money?” ---everyone nodded their heads “Well how many of you all have teased them, commented them, after all cared for them?” --- None, all put their heads down. Then I told them” How would they get money to fulfill their basic needs .how would they survive? There is a need for them to beg money, so they do it. But is there any purpose for your ill behavior but still you all tease them “. “ Aren’t they one among us? Why don’t you all show even the concern you give your pet dogs towards them”. I begged them not to repeat that.

I still remember the innocent face of the HIJRA which made me write this article. I, as a citizen, have taken the responsibility to initiate this & I feel I have put my responsibility in a secured place by conveying it to all of you. I (19 year old boy) as an individual could change the opinion of the passengers and im sure you would change every citizen’s opinion. I have decided to build shelter &provide food for the HIJRAS under my own expenses after I get into a good position.

I felt approaching everyone through article is the appropriate way . I think giving reservation would definitely make a difference .Please dont illtreat them.
